Consumables Cost Per Galaxy Guide 6
I've been thinking too hard about consumables cost. Now that I step back, I see that the 1E version of the calculation is actually a good number to use--except that the example in GG6 shows how to restock the entire ship after all consumables are depleted.
The calculation from GG6 is:
10 x Total Capacity x Consumables
10 is the base fee. Total Capacity is the total of crew and passengers Consumables is the max rating in days.
For the Falcon, this cost is 10 x 8 x 60 = 4800
That's a lot of credits, and when I first read the rule in GG6, I thought that they were saying that this cost needs to be paid per trip. I probably thought that because the fee is considered right below the docking fee, and in the 2E version of GG6, it is used per trip.
But that 4800 is the cost to restock the Falcon every two months, after 60 days of use (and at capacity with crew and passengers).
So, to make it easy, just charge this this fee to the players when it is due. For Luke's X-Wing, he refills once a week. For the Falcon, the cost must be paid once every two months.
That's easy enough.

An easy to keep track--some light bookkeeping--would be to use hash marks. You know, when you make four marks and then make the fifth one diagonal across the four. Rey uses them in TFA to count her nights on Jakku. When the PCs ship jumps to hyperspace, simply make a hash mark for each our of that trip. A day will be, of course, 24 of them. You could easily make two columns on a sheet of notebook paper for a ship like the Falcon. It would need two columns of 30 days each to indicate that the ship had used up all its resources. Whenever the PCs come into extra credits and want to fill up some of the consumables, you can just check to see how many days will "fill the tank" so to speak. It will be easy to figure the cost from the maxium number. The Falcon's consumables cost 4800 at standard rates (10 credit Base fee) to resupply the entire ship. That's 80 credits per day. How many days do the PCs want to pay for?
