Most SW discussion most places devolves to extensive parsing of which movies suck, and how badly. It’s like D&D discussions which become endless edition wars.
I like that we’ve set parameters and are pretty much just enthusiastic about how cool everything is. Really makes it just pure joy to be a SW fan again.

Totally agreed.
We need some more blood, though. We added one person, Zulgyan, and it spurred a lot of discussion over the last day or so.
We need to spread the word a bit, especially now while people are excited about Star Wars and the new movie coming out at the end of the year.

Totally agree with both of you. This place has the enthusiasm of early odd74.proboards.com/ (that board still has the BEST mood all round, though it has caught some toxicity from time to time in the recent years, it's inevitable and it's big). Yes, getting more people aware of this site would be very nice indeed. This will be my MAIN place for all things SW, because I share the scope, ethos and attitude on which it was founded. |

I'm back! I was checking in from time-to-time, but posting had dropped off completely. I posted the link to the new trailer last Friday without much hope. But behold, life springs a-new!

Hehe, me too. I'm busier than it might seem, and I will be traveling for the coming month, so my regular participation is doubtful. However, knowing how other community-building projects went that I participated in, allow me to say - in my opinion, what you need to get this place going is... A game!  Who wants to volunteer a round of good ol' Star Wars RPG?  |

I love Star Wars but have to confess that I haven't played the WEG RPG much in the past couple of decades and so I'm not sure how much I can contribute on that front. Most of my SW gaming has been through OD&D homebrew, although I did try the FFG version and maybe I should start a thread on that. I love it here because this place is filled with tolerant folks who just like to discuss, not argue. That means a lot! |
