Idea.
Needs some work. I like the idea, though.
A Medi-Comp is a diagnostic tool. It's a hand held device (could be the size of an iPad, I'm thinking) that a person can flip out and hold over wounds. The device will perform a diagnostic when doing this, via scan.
Now, here's the cool part. The Medi-Comp is in complete communication with a Medical Computer or droid. Maybe it's communicating with sickbay on the ship. The effect is like having a highly skilled medical droid beside a med-tech, instructing the tech on how best to treat the patient (after diagnosis).
All the Medi-Comp does is instruct. The med-tech still needs to have a med-bag with appropriate medicines, devices, bacta, medpacks, and such.
Using a Medi-Comp should be more effective than the one-size-fits-all medpack, and it should be capable of instructing healing procedures for very serious wounds.
What you do think?

That would be cool. I don’t know, though: Wouldn’t it be more Star Warsey to have to haul around a whole droid for that sort of thing?

It's a good idea, sort of a way to add a Star Trek tricorder or medical scanner into a Star Wars setting.
You can make use of combined action rules with it, though I'm not sure if the droid or the character should be the main roller.
