I love Star Wars comics. We needed a thread here to discuss them. Here it is! I just started reading Vol. 4 of what is one of the best two books coming out from Marvel right now: Poe Dameron. I guess it was inevitable, but the opening pages confirm that the Trade Federation had its back broken at the climax of the Clone Wars. The Neimodians have lost their concession, and by the time of the newest movies, they have no power at all. But, the sneaky bastards are adaptable...

Ha! Neimoidians are one of the few things from the PT that I really love! Of course fleshed out from WEG’s Duros (ST77’s Goggle-eyes).

I dig the Neimoidians, too.

My favorite comic is Knights of the Old Republic. They are a great expansion of the videogame that properly feel like they are the same setting while also managing setting up completely new characters and major villains that fit right in.

I've got the 10-part, huge set of KotR from Dark Horse. Haven't read it yet. It's daunting. That will be a mammoth undertaking when I attempt it. I did read the two Tales of the Jedi omnibuses, and they were, flat out, brilliant.

I'm on issue #94 of the original Marvel Star Wars run. I've been reading the five Dark Horse omnibuses over the years. Now, the series is winding down (it ends with issue #107). Return of the Jedi has come and gone. Now, I'm reading stories about the aftermath of the war. #94 is a pure delight. It's a lighthearted tale set on Endor called Small Wars. The Rebels remain on Endor, attempting to deal with the pains of a new Republic. The stories have been mostly about the heroes reaching out to worlds and convincing them that joining the Republic is a good idea rather than staying independent. The Star Warriors have been fighting pockets of the left over Empire, Slavers and Pirates, and hostilities that break out between potential Republic members. #94 is one of those issues where the reader just sits back and has some fun--takes a breather--from all the action. Earlier in the series, a cute little race has been introduced called the Lahsbee. These are cute little critters that play and stand around and giggle, muttering a gibberish that is hard to understand even by Star Wars standards. These little dudes and dudettes will run up to you, throw a kiss on you, and then run off, saying, "Tee-hee!" The Lahsbee have popped in a few stories, here and there. This isn't their first appearance. Well, the story is one of the Lahsbee kissed one of the Ewok princesses, and this pissed off her mate-to-be to no end. The entire Ewok race is infuriated at these pesky Lahsbee. And, they're ready for WAR! Now, you've got to picture this. The Ewoks, strutting around like they're somfin', jabbing their sticks into the air, muttering their speak. One of them has a stormtrooper helmet on, and it's so big that it almost slides over the Ewok's shoulders to cover his torso. And, he carries this spear that is about 5 lengths his height! Cracks me up! I haven't finished the story yet, but one thing I know about the Lahsbee from previous stories is that these small, cute, furry versions are the juveniles. At somepoint, they reach puberty and become an adult within seconds. Their body chemistry explodes, and boom, they Lahsbee become Huhk--a much bigger, adult race. This little one-off story is a pure hoot.
