Love it, Yora! It's easy to forget that disco was the dominant dance music at the time the original movie was released. Saturday Night Fever came out the same year.
It's interesting how the cover to that album is all retro-Buck-Rogers-y. They obviously only paid to cover the music and licensed no other image from Star Wars.

There’s a longer version of the Meco disco version. Actually I think there are several versions. I don’t know a lot about it. Anyway, enjoy. I’m starting you off with Cantina Band!

I love Meco's Star Wars! I have an old vinyl album of his and recently re-bought it in CD so that I could listen to it in my car. I also have old vinyl 45's of the original theme (shorter version than the album) and the one from ESB with the Meco version of the Imperial Death March (which, sadly, is not on the CD).
Hated "other galactic funk," however. The dude needed to stick to someone else's material.
I think I used to own some sort of Meco's Greatest type album or CD where he did other themes like Superman, but if so I'm not sure where it is any more.
