My history with RPGs in general is that I usually made up my own adventures for my homebrew campaigns, so I didn't buy many modules back in the day. This can be said for my experience with the WEG Star Wars RPG as well, so I have very minimal experience with WEG's modules.
What I'm thinking is that it would be fun to run some sort of a one-shot adventure of the WEG Star Wars RPG in my local game store. This would introduce folks to the game in general, and it would also help promote buying the reprints so the store wins as well. Rather than make up an adventure, I'd rather use a product which would be professionally developed and I could tell players "this is one example of the product line from the 1980's" or something like that.
So ... are there any good adventures which could be played in a couple of hours?

If I may, your best bet might be Instant Adventures. It's a collection of one-shot, one-night scenarios with a quick, gamemaster summary at the beginning of each adventure. Most work with Rebel characters, some more suitable for Fringe characters. (And if you'd prefer something for bounty hunters, the No Disintegrations book uses a similar adventure format.) My favorites from Instant Adventures includes one of my own, "In the Heat of Battle" (shipjacked characters land their escape pod on a savage jungle planet during an Imperial mop-up operation). Also of note is Floyd Wessel's fantastic "Heavy Lifting" where characters must help a Hutt escape bounty hunters. [Edit: Just noticed you might prefer 1st ed. adventures, but most of those were built on the more traditional, longer formats. Easy enough to port stats and such from 2nd ed. to 1st ed. for the two short adventure collections mentioned above. -- PS]

Guilty as charged, Falconer. Heard about this place from zenopus. Figured it might prove an interesting place for some WEG Star Wars engagement.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to Google search "Instant Adventures" to see if I can find a copy as a starting point. Oh, and Peter you ought to fix your signature so that Griffin Publishing Studio is a link. That way every post is also an advertisement for what you do. (If you get stuck, Falconer should be able to assist with this.)

I think the way for a quick, first adventure is the one called Rebel Breakout in the 1E player's handbook.
It's simple. You can expand it if necessary. It's site based, to keep it simple for a one-off. It's got stormtroopers and blasting away, and it gets to the action pretty quickly.
At the end, the PCs fly off in Y-Wings, and this can easily be expanded to conclude with a space battle or a Y-Wing vs. Walkers scenario.
Perfect for a night or two of gaming, and especially perfect for new players or a GM who hasn't run a SW game in a long time.
Nice and simple. Lots of fun.

I would also recommend Rebel Breakout. I've ran it and it worked great!
